Don’t compromise. The capitalist system can be really great if you know how to navigate it, don’t let a job way you down if they’re not going to respect you. Read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, it will give you the first step to taking control of your life for real. If they are going to discriminate against you for not complying to what is essentially cult behaviour, tell them to shove it and make your own path or find another job. The plus side is that so many people don’t want to work right now that there are plenty of job openings.
