Well, for a legal immigrant that wants to apply for permanent residency, they need a criminal record check both from their home country and in Canada, including fingerprints. They also need a sponsor that will be financially liable for them if they become in need of government support such as welfare, or proof of wealth. in the form of savings to ensure they aren't a drain on Canadian services. Truth is we have a strict and robust screening for legal immigration, that it's the people walking across our border demanding free shit that i think is a problem.
No, we don't. You can come here as a "student", conveniently forget to go to school, work a job under the table, and fly under the radar your entire life.
As long as you have some anchor babies, even if caught they're never deported.
I agree that we have been taking in way way too many too fast., but I don't dislike someone simply for being an immigrant.
