It's not the network effect that gives them a stronghold. It's the money effect. People put up stuff where they can earn money for it.

For Twitter, that event would be Trump moving to a competitors platform.

And in the end you would have to echo chambers. Twitter for left leaning people and Parler for right leaning people. Society would split even more.
