Debating is not always useless. I used to be for the lockdowns in the spring. Because I thought it was temporary to flatten the curve. And I assumed that the media and government wouldn't lie about the hospitals being overwhelmed in Northern Italy, New York, etc. And then I realized that the anti-lockdowner "bots" on twitter telling me in April "have fun being locked down forever" were right. I eventually realized that this lockdown wasn't temporary. lmao.

I was even for mask mandates as recently as July but felt the fines were ridiculous. $880 fine for not wearing a mask. Meanwhile the fine for running a red light is $325. The fine is grossly disproportionate to the risk. I was fine with like a $35 fine. Like a parking ticket. Now that we see that mask mandates had no noticeable impact on the epidemic curve and death curve around the world (see France, Italy, Spain, UK, Germany's recent spikes, etc), mask mandates don't make sense at all. This virus is airborne and it's smaller than the gaps between the fabric of the masks.

Anyone who is still for lockdowns and masks now 8+ months later might be far gone. But who knows. Neo was in denial at first too you know.
