Pre-trial detention isn't supposed to be part of the punishment. It's to ensure you show up for court.

Leftists are too stupid to understand this, just as they're too stupid to understand that the reason he survived his arrest (unlike Floyd) is because he didn't swallow a lethal dose of fentanyl and then struggle with the police until he died.
