These businesses are losing money because of the government imposed restrictions and lockdowns. If it's the government's fault that they are losing money, why should these businesses give a chunk of their ownership to the government?
I would agree if the tax payer was the share holder but we all know that isnt going to happen and instead it will be a slow take over similar to the way they move in to buy up properties after driving up property taxes and pushing out local businesses. This isnt good in any way.
It happened with the last bailout in 2008. The US and Canada bailed out companies like GM and got shares as return. Harper sold them for a loss on 2014 while the US held them for longer and sold them for a profit. It can be done in a good way.
Do you believe the government is capable of doing anything in a good way? Its all insider baseball and they dont care about whats best for the country or its population, and they have quite the history to prove it regardless of the colors they fly.
Be honest with yourself man, what is happening in our country? Im not anti government, Im anti THIS government. Both the libs and cons have been carrot and sticking us for years. "I will scrap the carbon tax", gets voted in "we will be looking at reworking our position in the Paris accord". "Were scraping the Firearms Act" gets voted in silence. OToole is just as milquetoast as Scheer, Sockman is, well Sockman, Jagmeet is a snake oil peddler, and Max is just screeching from the corner but fails to show up to vote on motions. There are currently no good leaders in positions to make the change necessary to bring us out of this mess.
Again, you sound like these far left Antifa soyboys. They even screech about Democrats and Liberals being to far right. You are just sitting on the other side of the spectrum.
What's happening in our country? Look, in my opinion Trudeau isn't this Communist pig this community paints him to be. And Trump isn't this fascist moron the left claims him to be. Currently we live in a time where controversy sells. And it sells big. The media, including social media, amplifies radical opinions on the left and on the right. This is splitting our world, especially the Western world. Everyone here is pushing this wedge deeper and deeper into our society. Personally I could only guess who's behind this or who profits from this, but there are only a handful of countries or entities that love the current climate in Western countries.
I don't know where you were born and raised in Canada, but your opinion of Conservative politicians in Canadians is not the opinion of the base of Conservatives in Canada. I was born and raised in a small town in Saskatchewan. And by small town I mean a town with no paved roads and 4 churches for less than 600 people. The class I graduated had 11 kids in it. My riding here in Saskatchewan voted with over 80% for the CPC. I'm in the heartland of Conservatism in Canada. And these people here love Scheer and they love O'Toole. They also hate Bernier. He is a French traitor that helps Trudeau. This is Canadian Conservatism. You though are an American Conservative.
Im sorry but youre already convinced of a narrative that simply does not exist. I am not an antifag, I am not a Canadian conservative or an American conservative, I am a Canadian who is questioning the integrity of the system I once had hope in. You say that were in a time where controversy sells yet play into the controversy of sides when interacting with me, someone who isnt in 100% agreeance with you, you even stoop to the level of name calling. You see, the irony is that you and I agree on the condition of our country, and yet youve already discounted my opinion based off snapshot judgements. My opinion of the current party leaders does not define my political beliefs, they are simply a critique of the person themselves. Stop falling for the trap of division, especially considering you are already aware of the trap and its implications.
Good. That's the way it should be, if you want to get your business bailed out by tax payer money.
