The biggest response I've heard from leftists is the guy didn't have a business license. I saw he was charged for operating without a business license. Does anyone know if he had one but it was revoked due to shutdowns, or suspended due to this whole situation? I'm trying to figure it out because this business license is the key thing leftists are hanging their hat on. If he didn't have a license at all, I think he's definitely messed up there but it doesn't justify everything else that has gone on.

Business licenses are nothing but a tax IMHO. And in some cases used to limit competition to the friends of city officials.
Completely agree. Only thing a restaurant should have to do is allow health checks. Business licenses are nothing but a barrier to entry, as you said.
^ This. By reacting you are giving them legitimacy.
I'd like to know too. I'm in BC and want to know more about this story so I asked a lefty friend who lives in Toronto. They went on and on about how he didn't have a business license, he failed multiple restaurant inspections from the ministry and has various code violations and that's why he was shut down. Is all this true?
"multiple violations"
Pretty much every restaurant in my city has had multiple health code violations. They're stringent.
I highly doubt that is true.
It sounds more like government propaganda to tarnish this person. I believe there is a law about slandering someone, but doubt the government cares.
That shit head PM Nice Hair loved the Charter of Rights when he could give a terrorist 10 million bucks. Today, he wipes his ass with it.
He was ticketed for operating without a business license, so that's official. I'm just wondering if its a semantic type of thing, like did he have a business license the day before but the health order suspended his license thus he's operating without one? But ya I hear ya man its insane this is what leftists are concentrating on right now.
At least Adam Skelly is employing Canadians and providing a service to Canadians with his inherited capital. Not all trust fund kids are created equal. But the left treats petit-bourgeoisie the same as they do the bourgeoisie.
Adam is also involved in the day-to-day executive and even on-ground functions of his restaurants. It's not like he's just collecting income passively.
