I don’t understand how folks can accept a basic income policy where potentially hundreds of thousands of new arrivals can simply arrive and sign up and get paid for nothing in return. How can people be so stupid? Why not just stand on the street corner and give away hard earned money? Does this make the woke feel good? They can pat each other on the back and proclaim their worth, and tell conservatives how much more caring they are? Silly.
Of course if the participants aren't subject to the higher taxes that would be required to fund the UBI and are aware that it well end in 3 years they will still have an incentive to work. I guess it would be hard to get participants for the experiment who would want to pay higher taxes to make it self-funded though...
This is the natural evolution of this fauxdemic response. Canada's deficit on COVID ($400+ billion) is over $10k for every man, woman and child in Canada and we're not even close to done printing money for this fauxdemic. You might as well fucking do UBI at this point if you're going to fire up the money printer like that. Not that it will really matter because UBI with no increase in the housing supply means fuck all. What's the point of having more money if the amount of housing available to rent is the same?
As long as you have people working and paying taxes this can go on for a long time. And yet the working people will complain their taxes are too high but not about how the money is spent.
This could be why they have changed math in schools. I don't buy the argument it helps with things like physics.
