After Lincoln abolished slavery in the US, some Black Americans founded Liberia with the exact constitution as the US. Does Liberia look like the US? It's clear that what makes a country is its people. When you take large sums of migrants, your country becomes like the country they fled in the same proportion. I don't want to become more like Honduras and I definitely don't want to become like Haiti. But that's what is in the process of happening.
