It's funny, when cases go up despite lockdowns, the argument from the pro-lockdown crowd on social media is that we aren't locking down hard enough. They argue that we need to close everything but grocery stores and pharmacies for 14-28 days. They want to cancel school. They want to make it law that each household must have one designated shopper and that you can't leave your house to shop more than once every 7-14 days. In Greece you have to text the government to ask for permission to leave your house.

Democracy was a mistake. We have so many authoritarians in our midst who don't respect the values of individual liberty, who piss all over the Charter. What's the point of democracy when democracy is two wolves and one sheep voting on what's for dinner?

Last time, it was "We'll let you open if you agree to mask mandates."

This time, they don't have a vaccine ready, but they might go for "We'll let you open if you check proof of a recent rapid COVID test."

I almost don't want to say it because it might give them ideas.

They are barganing away "rights and freedoms" they have no right to bargain away.
