I'm thinking of making the switch to public mobile. I've been on Koodo for awhile but want more data. I came across public mobile and all the videos on YouTube seem to be really good. Anybody else try them?

Yeah I bit the bullet and made the switch. So far I'm not noticing any difference from Koodo other than price. Even if I hold out for a few years and switch back to Koodo I'm still saving money. The guy at the kiosk said most people will get Public and after 30 days contact Koodo and switch to Koodo but keep the price. Same thing with Chatr and Fido he said.
PM would be same towers as Koodo; both owned by Telus. PM plans might only support 3G data though which could be slow as shit so be warned.
If you live in ON/AB/BC you could also book a callback with Koodo, say you want to cancel and switch to Freedom mobile's $35/4GB plan and that you are a broke peasant who lost their job because of the Chinavirus and want a better deal. The third-worldmen customer service guy may be able to give you a similar plan, a free 4GB addon to your existing plan, or ask for the $40/8GB plan because your buddy has it. And since it's Koodo you would keep the 4G faster data.
PM is a Telus subsidiary and runs on Telus' network. Their cheap plans have data speeds throttled to 3G speeds. That's what you are noticing. But the voice, SMS, MMS works perfectly fine. 3G speed is fine for casual use. It depends on what you need the data for.
tfw you can't watch cuck porn at work because of trash 3G speed, what's the point of even living
