And if the west didn't have to fork over billions to keep ontario quebec and the maritimes happy, those dollars could be kept in province, and we (the western provinces) could tell ottawa to go screw while being able to sell all our resources such as oil, gas, lumber, minerals, water etc internationally without having to ask permission.

Unfortunately, keeping the eastern provinces on generational welfare costs money which ottawa doesn't have, so we get to be their wallet. Or bitch. Same thing really.
