Vaccines dont prevent infections and do not stop spreading of diseases. There are numerous cases of outbreaks in 100% vaccinated populations. Literally 100% of given population in an area were vaccinated and had MMR or other similar diseases.
This outbreak demonstrates that transmission of measles can occur within a school population with a documented immunization level of 100%. This level was validated during the outbreak investigation. Previous investigations of measles outbreaks among highly immunized populations have revealed risk factors such as improper storage or handling of vaccine, vaccine administered to children under 1 year of age, use of globulin with vaccine, and use of killed virus vaccine (1-5). However, these risk factors did not adequately explain the occurrence of this outbreak.
Vaccines, historically, have had little to no effect on trends for mortality or spread of diseases. Take Measles, Whooping Cough, Scarlet Fever, etc. Most were virtually wiped out and rare by the time the vaccines were introduced. A different set of graphs for cmoparison. The biggest thing that eradicated most diseases is sanitation and clean water systems. Prior to WWII, people still shit in buckets and outhouses. My parents had the "honeyman" come around weekly to clean out the outhouses. My father was the first person in his neighbourhood to get a working toilet in the late 50s or early 60s give or take. Prior to WWII, doctors wore the same bloodstained smock all day long and may or may not have even worn or changed gloves. People smoked in the hospitals and so on. They didnt have clean rooms and sterilized tools and what little they did would not pass modern standards and would require complete resterilization of all involved.
You can thank ze Germans for a lot of the advancements in this regard and many projects carried out in 1st world post-WWII that led to the drastic drops in mortality. Clean drinking water and sanitation combined with hospitals realizing the effect of sterilization of tools and equipment and operating rooms led to decreases in mortality. Medications and steroids help treat many of the onset effects and lower mortality rates. Historically, vaccines have extremely low effectiveness in all tests. Flu vaccines are below 50%. Recent are below 20%. Its an annual business worth billions. American practices are required to vaccinate 80-90% of their patients in order to qualify for benefits and insurance rates that make them profitable. All vaccines are free of liability and doctors do not fill out or submit vaccine related injuries. There have been no audits or investigations by health officials and no data is collected outside private groups. Billions of dollars + no risk/liability + no oversight = vaccine lobby groups and push in all media and through drug reps. Shingles vaccine on tv all the time? I wouldnt recommend that to my worst enemy. It's that bad and common side effects. Flu vaccine? Those at risk, elderly, fair worse with it than without.
Some vaccines work and work well. Some are banned by countries, like the MMR vaccine in Japan, yet you are an evil anti-vaxxer white republican karen if you question it in America. Odd Japan can say it causes deaths and is dangerous without question, but you are ostracized and cant go to schools, etc if you if contemplate not getting it here.
Fun story. I was required by my previous company (big fortune 500 type) to have a medical and proof of travel vaccine for international assignments. Not a big deal. I mostly agree with the policy. In exchange for world-class health and evacuation insurance, you need to prove you are healthy before you go.
So there is a vaccine called Japanese Encephalitis. It is a serious disease that could kill you if bitten by a tick that is endemic to most of Asia. Personally, I think it is a big money maker, that is unnecessarily pushed on 99% of tourists by big-pharma & the travel vac places. You are only going to get bit by a tick if you are off jungle treking - not sitting on a beach or shopping in Tokyo.
So I end up in the Philippines on short notice and do my pre-transfer-medical retroactively (because rules are rules except they are not). Update a couple expired vaccines. "Sorry sir, the Jap Encephalitis vaccine is ILLEGAL in the Philippines". Okey-doke who gives a fuck. I am working in a 50 story office tower and living in a 5-star hotel.
And then the shit hits the fan. The emails start pouring in. "Why are you deficient in your JE?" "It is ILLEGAL here". Over the course of 6-months the emails get more frantic and CC'ed higher and higher and higher. It got to the point of why don't you fly to Singapore for a day and get it there? There were various visa related reasons why it was impossible for me to leave the PI. So it finally makes it up to the C-level folk and they seriously debated illegally smuggling in a nurse with the vaccine on a private jet - until they figured out it needed three separate doses. Not ONE PERSON could comprehend that different countries have different rules.
Japanese Encephalitis is a standard vaccine in most of Asia for a reason. My kids got it in Taiwan and I trust Taiwan a fuck of a lot more than I do the Philippines. You do you, but if you can avoid a deadly disease with a couple of needles, well...
I’d trust Taiwan more than the Philippines also! I’ve lived in Singapore for almost 25 years. Three of my kids were born there. I traveled extensively throughout Asia and it was never raised as a requirement or an issue. I think we’ve discussed this before. I’ll look into it since I’m moving my main residence from Singapore to Indonesia early next year.
The problem with the JE vaccine is it is only effective for about two years. And it takes 3-shots at 0-days, 30-days, and 6-months or something like that. At least it used to. I've heard there is now a better one that only takes two shots.
I've had it half-a-dozen times. It is not a big deal to me. Obviously my company pays for mine. But the travel vac places nail honeymooners with $400 per person bills for this vaccine when they intend to do nothing but fuck for a week in a 5-star resort and come home.
Why are we so quick to push an untested mRNA vaccine, going so far as to make it mandatory, when therapeutics that are proven to be safe and have a long history of use such as hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin are readily available? Why is there no interest in trying to find ways to mass produce the antibody cocktail given to Trump and Giuliani, which allowed them to be discharged from hospital in less than a week? There are already reports of the Pfizer vaccine making people sick.

Great story. Once this travel ban crap is lifted I’m off to SE Asia. Never had to have the JE shot but your story seems so relatable.

Except you're wrong regarding the method of transmission. It not a tick, it's mosquito borne. Mosquitoes fly.
Hmmm... Apparently I be dead wrong about the ticks. I could have sworn.... Mosquitos it is.
It's just the same as masks.... if the sheep believed masks do what they think they do, they won't be forcing everyone wear one
And yet they're still pushing flu shots, including the "high dose" flu shots for seniors.
