You need to have prolonged exposure to someone infected with covid at a close proximity to get a sufficient viral dose for infection. You do not get covid from standing next to someone in an elevator or passing them in the street. On the other hand, with a mask on your face, you are walking all over the place collecting micro droplets and dirt particles on this thing attached to your face. Then you grab it with your hand improperly (let's face it most people do not know how to properly handle masks) and shove it in your pocket. Then you proceed to grab a hamburger with your dirty hands and eat it.
Or better yet, the people that wear those reusable masks who probably never wash them. They wear them daily everywhere they go. Masks do not work. They are a bit net that catches germs that you wear on your face.
