I had an eye infection a few years ago. Scratchy, red, pus. Went to the doctor. Mid thirties Indian lady with a British accent. She was not keen on examining my eye, she seemed very squeamish and unsure of what exactly to do.
It was clear that she became a doctor to drive the nice car to work to take people’s blood pressure and tell them to quit smoking. The only real doctors worth their salt are the specialists and surgeons. Family doctors don’t really need to exist, their job can be done by a nurse.
