You may as well have tried to calculate Canada's average salary by taking the GPD and dividing by the population. That's just not what those numbers mean and aren't a valid use of them.
0.26% is the mortality rate for individuals who have been infected by COVID as estimated by the CDC. There may be organizations out there that have a better model for estimating fatality but the methodology you came up with is crude to the point of being useless.
