Trudeau should ban international flights, or test the passengers

"While the majority of cases no longer come from travel and haven’t since the early days of this pandemic, it makes little sense to tell Canadians not to leave their homes while having dozens upon dozens of international flights arriving daily. In the last two weeks alone 107 flights from various destinations have arrived at Canada’s airport with Covid infected passengers."
How come we know so much about transmission on planes and yet nothing it seems about community transmission?
And how do the few cases from travelers compare to the 2000 cases per day in Quebec? Shall we require a negative test to go to the pharmacy, the grocery store, Costco, etc? Ford and Legault and others are pointing their fingers at travel, airports and Trudeau to divert attention from their own failed policies.
I don't mind if I need a negative test to fly back to Canada. But let's not pretend that travelers are currently the main agents of transmission while ignoring the problems in the cities. And how about requiring tests for families before locking them all together in the house? (Of course no one reports on where the current cases are coming from - but it must be travelers!) The level of stupid is astounding.
Unfortunately I can’t enlighten you because I can’t make sense of most of what the media and the politicians are telling us. Yet for some reason I am skeptical of everything I read or hear.
