My ex-GF had this plan that when we got married we'd first buy a house and rent out rooms to university students to generate income that we'd use to buy our first home to live in. I tried to explain to her that it's to easy to get a bad tenant who refuses to pay and it's too hard to get rid of them if they don't. Every law is structured under the premise that we're evil, greedy villans just for providing housing.

I don't know how we would have survived the pandemic had we done it. We'd be stuck figuring out how to pay a mortgage, taxes and maintenence on a house when no one in it is paying a cent of the money they owe us. All while the news was publishing hit pieces suggesting we're evil for not wanting to go bankrupt.
