The "they deserve a break!" rationalization is so fucking stupid. If you need a break, go outside and have a smoke. Take a day off. Have a barbeque or something. Why does "taking a break" require uploading embarrassing and unprofessional videos to the internet? That's not "taking a break" or "blowing off steam". That's something else completely. It's cringey, self-congratulatory, childish attention seeking at its worst and it demeans your profession and erodes public trust.
Does anyone else remember when "professionalism" was a thing? You know, the exercising of order, discipline and maturity in the workplace? What the fuck happened? All of a sudden we've got the military posting baghra dance videos and marching in gay pride parades, police doing the YMCA in uniform, and now countless on-duty doctors and nurses dancing around like a bunch of ten year old girls for tiktok "likes".
It's as if the entire concept of professionalism was completely deleted over night, and now our critical services have been converted into a three ring circus staffed by idiot children. I can't help but wonder if this is another facet in the deliberate effort to weaken our civilization.
