That's exactly why, I work in a small town, tiny grocery store, not a big corporation. We had to do this back in march/april/may as part of our plan to be open safely, 30 carts, 30 people at a time, carts were washed and sanitized after use.
Sure it was silly, but it was the simplest solution to keep us open and working. If people were jerks about it we just told them they can call ahead or email for curbside pickup. I took a few extra shifts washing carts and explaining the protocol to people, and never really got any attitude from people, the young girls trying to do it would be berated and a few cried because boomers were yelling at them about it being stupid or just pushing past them. Which sounds like a lot of this thread. We didn't even have a mask mandated back then.
So what's the plan, go yell at Doug Ford at his home? Go yell at some cops?
Most Canadians can't just go visit their MLA/MP in person, so what you are advocating is LARPing online via social media. Guess what, the politicians and the police don't give a shit what you say, they have the authority and the weapons.
You don't have to get violent or mean. You can calmly explain to them that by enforcing these rules, they are harming society and they should think about the consequences of their actions.
Then calmly and politely ignore whatever rule they wish to enforce, and if they push back, suggest that if they don't like it, they can try to do something about it - and they may not like the outcome.
In Communist nations, informants were comprised of 'everyday people', including teenagers. By absolving them of responsibility, you are contributing to the spread of this authoritarian ideology.
You are normalizing their actions by removing their agency. If they are ignorant to the point of not realizing the impact of their actions, it's your DUTY to make them aware.
