Is it just me, or are restaurant prices way up AND the portions really small now?

I noticed about 7-8 years ago that there was a change in restaurants and pubs. Portions got smaller, prices went up and everything was trying be fancy. Simple things like cheeseburgers were now gourmet affairs that had some overly cheery story that implied it was practically a Michelin three star piece of art. Even the pubs in my town renovated and tried to change their image from hole in the wall sports pubs playing classic rock/country to chic urban yuppie décor with that incessant dance beat bullshit in the background. You feel like an absolute twat sitting down for a pint and some grub, looking around seeing that its mostly old cotton tops inside and the music is blaring some top 40 teenage dance pop garbage.
There's a total of one bar left in my town that is old school, but it's scheduled to be torn down and rebuilt underneath a large condo complex for seniors. No way in hell it will remain as the dimly lit and full of character hole in the wall pub the whole town knew and loved. Fuck me, every week I feel like moving away from the west coast and moving up to the Yukon to get away from it all.
Portions are still very large, most places you go out to eat you get a days calories in one meal.
