The problem with libertarianism, is that it is based on everyone leaving each other alone. The left is physically incapable of leaving others alone, and will trample libertarians.
Libertarians are the right-winger's version of hippies thinking all problems can be solved peacefully if everyone just respected each other's rights and boundaries.
That's not true. Libertarians were always split on this. You had Libertarians arguing against immigration because it amounts to a forced integration and you had Libertarians arguing in favor for it because it infringes of the rights of the individuals. This is not a new thing and wasn't caused by leftists.
Look at the Bundy family in the US. They organize anti-mask and anti-lockdown protests. They are very pro gun. They defend free speech. They take over government buildings to "protect the freedoms of the people". They have standoffs with the FBI over gazing fees on federal owned land. But Ammon Bundy is very pro immigration. He defended the migrant caravan and said that they have the right to seek shelter in the US.
Exactly. And they don't realize that humans must live in a structured society because we're a social species, and that structure requires rules.
I.E. The Libertarian pulls up to a red light and says "WTF? What gives the government the right to tell me when I can't and can't move?!?!"
A sane person however recognizes that if he wants to transit the same space as a bunch of other cars, that's going to require coordination, which he's going to have to subordinate himself to. The libertarian abhors being subordinated to higher powers, because he doesn't understand how how human societies work.

Yes, you have to fight them off, and you cannot do so with one hand tied behind your back.
