When they shut down all the small businesses and just left the big box stores open, they ended up concentrating all the shoppers together in a few big centralized locations, turning them into daily super-spreader events.
Now they're imposing curfews, as if that will somehow limit people's exposure to each other by keeping them at home more I guess?
Well here's the thing: Bars and restaurants are already closed. The only thing people are going out at night for is logistical activities like shopping - things they have to do every day regardless of curfews.
So all a curfew will accomplish is to shorten the available hours people have to carry out those logistical activities (like shopping), which will concentrate everyone into the stores during the remaining hours, which will increase social contact/exposure, not reduce it.
So like the small business shutdowns, this measure can only make things worse.
I don't believe for one second that there's any modeling that pointed to this being a good idea, because it defies logic on the face of it. At this point it's painfully obvious that governments are just taking drastic actions so they can be seen to be "doing something". And worse, there's no exit strategy. Nothing they're doing is working. None of these measures will bring an end to the pandemic (indeed they'll only make it worse), so where's the light at the end of the tunnel here? Is there one? Or is this the "new normal"?
Oh and they still don't know if the vaccines work on the new strains yet BTW.
Ford said something about this when questioned once - by closing the small stores, it prevents people from going to multiple stores and spreading it more. Its science, so dont question this logic. https://www.facebook.com/CTVNews/videos/ford-big-box-stores-prevent-people-from-making-multiple-trips/778294066088138/
The whole thing is a fraud. https://outline.com/qw7e6X - tor star back when Ontario changed the definition of cases.
This was when Ford said they were going to start meeting goal of 8000 tests per day and had been struggling for months to do so. They magically started hitting 9000+ after that change. The other fun side effect is that you can have multiple samples from the same person in the lab and they will be tested. If you have six samples from one person that tests positive, it is six cases and six tests done for stats. If you test him again tomorrow, its six more cases and six more tests.
Combine all this with the pcr scam "test" and 40+ cycle threshold with mass testing on a healthy public and you have no one sick, no hospitalizations and no one dying, but can trot out the fake case count and fake numbers to impose your masters power consolidation and serf creating policies.
LOL what an idiot.
More people in contact with each other = more efficient spread.
Fewer people in contact with each other = less efficient spread.
Having many small stores servicing the population keeps people apart.
Making everyone crowd into one big store crams everyone together. Just as curfews will cram those people together even more, by reducing the amount of time their shopping can be spread across the day.
And they claim to be following the science. A fucking third grader could see why this approach is flawed.
Jesus, don't you understand that it's the number of trips that matters? More trips = more spread. More is more. Less is less. One trip to a store with a billion people is still only one trip. Accept the science!
