That is why we seek the clarification of our independent judiciary.
Currently I would expect that the Ontario Supreme Court would rule that knocking someone out to throw them into a Covid isolation center is constitutional.
Literally everything is constitutional when the constitution itself more or less says the government can do whatever the fuck they want to whoever they want for any reason they want.
These officers citing the charter are pretty empty headed.
Did you know that before pierre turdeau gave us the charter we had a Bill of Rights? it still exists, but mostly for judges and politicians to laugh at.
One thing it guaranteed was the right for citizens to enjoy the property they own.
The charter does not include this.
If they keep bitching about the charter, the libs will just toss it out and replace it with a more restrictive document.
So trust the plan of a small group of people within the system to change the system itself and force out the bad apples? Hrmmm, I'll hope for it but wont be counting on it.
The entire plan is to demoralize actual "good" cops, drive them out of the Force. Then massively ramp up "recruitment" to get complicit lowlife thugs into the Force to do the gov's biddings.
Rights are, by definition, inalienable. You’re born with them and the government needs to protect that fact, mostly from itself.
Privileges are granted by the government. They can be taken away by the government. Calling the privileges in our Charter “rights” is just 1984 newspeak.

Just like they did with the bill of rights.

We don’t really have rights. We have privileges.
