Porch Pirate is a term used to describe thieves who steal packages (usually from Amazon) from the front porch of peoples' homes. This is especially prevalent in the time of COVID as most customers specifically request that the courier leave the package on the front porch. Or couriers are too afraid to deliver the package to the customer directly for fear of catching the WuFlu.

The fact that the suspect in question appears to possibly be from Somalia or Eritrea is an amusing coincidence. Given the piracy issue in the Horn of Africa. Heh.
Luckily I've never had a package stolen from my front porch. However the Intercom courier (Amazon delivery contractor) left my neighbourhood's package on my front porch accidentally. And Canada Post has fucked up our mail before multiple times.
