It doesn't matter. They created enough plausible evidence of a link between them and literal KKK/neo-nazis that the MSM can easily convince their audience of that link with a few short sound bites. That's all that matters. The Rebel will never wash the stink of those associations off of them. I wish it weren't the case, but it is. People need to face reality.
