Too late, bro. My wife (non-smoker) was in ICU on a ventilator for three weeks. She got sick in 2012, her lungs were collapsing due to a combination of infection and allergic reaction. No COVID required. The only reason she survived was because the specialist knew her shit and was able to inflate her lungs in time (which is rare if you deal with doctors in Canada often)
The moral of the story? There are lots of nasty bugs out there that increase the risk of pneumonia (even I was hospitalized with pneumonia in 2011) COVID is just one more.
