The irony is that the woman who shared this photo on twitter has #CovidZero on her banner. Meaning she wants 0 cases. It hasn't dawned on her that maybe if nursing home residents weren't treated like shit, the death rate would be lower. In BC the COVID-19 deaths per capita is 44% lower and they are less restricted than Ontario. You can dine in at a restaurant in BC.
How the fuck is your immune system supposed to fight SARS-CoV-2 when you're 85, you're barely given any food to eat and water to drink, barely given any medical care, aren't given Vitamin D3 and C, have chronic illnesses, not allowed to get sunlight, not allowed to see your children and grandchildren? This is a virus strain that is more hard on the aged and ill than seasonal influenza. So you should be boosting their immune system if anything instead of letting their immune system go to shit.
But sure let's blame young people for having social gatherings and Tinder hook-ups. Let's not blame the nursing homes for destroying the immune system of octogenarians. And for not properly screening and testing for the virus in the homes.
I'd bet the old people in communities that are active, power walk daily and eat healthy are not dropping from Covid like they are in the old folks prisons.
That looks like your Tuesday fish when your mother deigns to come down the steps to feed you. Know that your existence is an existential crisis for her.
I saw a segment on CBC recently where a woman decided to volunteer at a nursing home in Ontario so that she could take care of her mom. Her mom had COVID-19. And she eventually recovered. She shared a video of her mom in poor health slowly saying "I love you" to her daughter. You could see the joy and determination in her facial expression that she was able to be with her daughter. Mental health is health. The lefties were right about the importance of mental health for years. But now if you talk about the importance of mental health, diet, Vitamin D and sunlight for boosting your immune system to fight viruses (including the coronavirus), you're called a nutjob. Being nursed by her daughter gave her the will to live and boosted her immune system.
The longer life spans of today combined with women having to work for the most part make it more challenging for people to take care of parents with serious chronic health issues like dementia. My parents, sister and I moved in with our maternal grandparents in the 90s to take care of our wheel-chair bound grandmother who became paralyzed after a stroke. But then my maternal grandfather started developing Alzheimer's Disease over the years. Until his mind was completely fucked. He up and left while my parents weren't home. He ended up walking 30 km and the police found him for us. Since my mom was working and couldn't supervise him 24/7 (it was easier to supervise a wheelchair-bound grandmother), she had to put him in a nursing home.
Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease wasn't really a problem back when humans lived shorter lives because they died from other things. As people live long lives now, our brains break down in ways that they didn't have the opportunity to before. This is also why coronavirus isn't a big problem in sub-Saharan African outside of South Africa which has a bunch of old white Afrikaaners dying of COVID. When the average life expectancy in Nigeria is 54, niggas ain't gonna be dying from COVID.

I wonder if career welfare "moms" would change their ways if we showed them what they had to look forward to once they are old and barren.
It could be that this resident is on a restricted diet

I didnt realize that lefties cared about mental health.
There's this guy named Jordan Peterson, they sure hate him
They only care about it is it’s under the pretext of racial abuse or gender inequality or whatever they feel like the BS flavour of the day is
