Parler is basically PUBLIC. What could they even leak, that you couldn't get just by signing in?
Users phone numbers, direct messages between users, content of what users look at but don’t interact with
To be fair, this could be a scheme to harvest telephone numbers. DMs seem to be a much smaller part of Parler, in particular, because you can't have groups. So, if you want to reach multiple people, you really just have to put it out there.
But I suppose there is a little bit more data that could be gleaned. It seems like a really small potential haul, for all that trouble. Most people use their names and pictures.
IP perhaps. The only way Parler has your location, is from exif - which anyone with an account can get if you don't sanitize your images.
There is almost no data that we don't all just have access to. Parler should always be treated as non-anonymous and public.
Just an idea. Most social networks (Facebook, Twitter and so on) strip the images from exif data. Maybe Parler should do the same.
They really should.
