TL;DR : The left and right have a common enemy: Those at the top trying to divide us. Let's fight them together!

So, the reason I'm posting this is because as the time has gone by in my life I've seen the division and toxicity between the left and the right increase dramatically.

When I saw this video I instantly thought how much I agree with this message. Do I have different ideas than most of you guys about how things should be? Sure. The left and the right have always had different ideas about how things should be. But why are we so much more polarized now?

My belief is that it's the sociopaths at the top of everything, who are doing all they can to try to divide us so they can keep us fighting each other instead of them. That's one of the reasons as a leftie that I came here. To have a dialogue with my fellow citizens and see if you all were really as horrible as the powers that be would have you believe. For my part I hope that the few of you who have interacted with me have seen that not every leftie is a cuck.

I'm old enough to remember a time when the left and the right could have disagreements without attacking each other personally. I miss those times. There was a time when the left and the right were able to work together on the things that we agreed with. For example I'm not a big fan of Libertarianism on fiscal matters, but we agree on freedom of speech, not sticking our nose into other countries' business, drug policy, etc. Back in the day we could work together on those things.

I don't know if there's a particular community on reddit or wherever that this community sees as its opposite. OnGuardForThee perhaps? But whatever it is let me know and I'll post this video with a similar sentiment on there. Because I feel like we can work together against our real, common enemy. And once we beat them we can go back to fighting each other. ?
