They've dug us so deep that there's no way they can just say "Oh sorry, it was all a big misunderstanding" without getting lynched in the streets. So we're being kept in lockdown while they try to figure out an exit strategy they can use to save their own skins (while their lockdowns continue to kill innocent citizens and ruin countless lives).
