I don't think the problem is Justin Trudeau or Doug Ford (Ontario) or any of the premiers. Or even Justin Trudeau's father for that matter (inb4 Fidel Castro jokes). I think the problem is cultural. Justin Trudeau is a Chameleon. He doesn't believe in this SJW horse shit. he did black face at least three times. He doesn't even remember the number of times he did blackface. He was a dudebro who groped women at ~28 years old. Now he pretends to be a male feminist because it's trendy.
Canada bases it's identity on how much better we are than in the United States in our mind. For example, Canadians take pride in having far less COVID cases and deaths per capita than the United States. We take pride in our universal health care. Even though our universal health care got ass-raped by COVID. They are triaging senior citizen COVID patients here in Peel. That's why COVID deaths are 5x the ICU admissions for seniors 65+ here as per the statistics Peel Region released in their report.
When I see rural Saskatchewan type of white guys interviewed on CBC ranting about how people aren't taking the COVID restrictions seriously, it was at that moment that I realized just how cucked our country is. This wasn't some purple-haired SJW. This was an ordinary working class white Canadian man in a rural town who believes this kind of shit.
Behind a white small town/rural white guy like that is a scared cuck who doesn't want to face the prospect of their parents' mortality. Or their own mortality if they are an obese diabetic fuck who is worried that they might actually die from this thing.
Canada is a nation of pussies. We aren't the brave men who fought the Nazis. Those men are long dead. Or they are in a nursing home dying from neglect and they put it down as COVID on their death certificate. We compare COVID to a war. As if staying home like a scared bitch is on par with the courage of facing your enemies in war.
Erin O'Tool is a cuck because we are a nation of cucks. Erin O'Tool bends the knee and compromises because we are a nation of cucks. He's a Chameleon that does what he thinks is necessary to get the Tories elected. Erin O'Tool is not trying to go for your vote, he's trying to win over the suburban snitching Karen swing voter. The type that got Doug Ford elected. And as a 905er I know these people very well because they are my neighbours.
COVID cases and deaths here in Ontario aren't even all that bad compared to the United States, much of Europe, Brazil, etc. I don't understand why Canadians are such scared cucks. Our medical officer of health in Ontario Dr. David Williams says that there are no plans to re-open Ontario until we get under 1,000 cases/day. And "top epidemiologists" in Ontario say that 1,000 is still too much. Meanwhile 1,000 cases/day for a 14.7 million population is nothing in the United States, UK, Italy, Brazil, etc.
The solution right now is not political. The solution is to change the culture. To uncuck Canada. Once you uncuck Canada, then the politicians will follow. No amount of based politicians is going to change the fact that we are a nation of scared cucks that don't want their parents to die. Or they are neurotic fucks fearing their own death. I literally saw a Karen on Twitter say she doesn't want her 95 year old mom to catch COVID and die. LMAO. These people on twitter and the CBC comments section being extreme cucks, they aren't exactly all bots. A lot of them are real people who are scared shitless for either their parents, grandparents or themselves. They can't come to terms with mortality of their loved ones or their own mortality.
Interesting take. The observation that much of this is related to people being unable to come to terms with their mortality is something I’ve believed for a while. Why are people like this? Is it because of the decline of religion? The rise of instant gratification and the fear of loss of control? The coddling of youth as they’ve grown up? Who knows? But that fear is manifesting itself in behaviors, beliefs and emotions running thru much of the population.
My wife is from Java. 165 million people living on an island roughly the size of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Apart from pockets of obscenely rich and a small middle class, most are very poor. Many get sick from various diseases we don’t have in the developed world. Many don’t know where their next meal will come from, so they need to work. Death is a much more real part of life. It doesn’t scare people and it is talked about more openly. This virus doesn’t bother people there. They go on with life, even though the government tries to shut down everything. But at the end of the day the people there just move on, unfazed by this “lethal” virus. Death is part of life and we can’t live in fear of it. It will paralyze us and people won’t want to move in until we have zero cases. You are correct - cucks!
Do you know why rural white farmers in the middle of nowhere in Saskatchewan believe that kind of shit? Because these rural white farmers here in Saskatchewan not only now people who got infected with Covid, they know people that died of Covid.
If you live in a bigger city like Saskatoon or Regina (or Toronto, Calgary, etc.) you might don't even know someone that tested positive for Covid. This is different for rural small towns here in Saskatchewan. And the reason for that is that almost every single small town in Sask has a care home. These care homes were and are hit hard with Covid this winter. You have story after story coming out. 35 infected, 7 dead in this small town. 42 infected and 6 dead in the town over. The list goes on and on. These farmers see the people they meet at the local coffee row in the morning get infected and die on mass. This isn't some CBC/MSM induced fear they have. Everyday they go home and talk at the dinner table about someone who died. Someone they have seen for the last 10 years at the coffee row or ice rink.
If our universal health care system got ass-raped by Covid, what did it do to the private health care system of the US? We have the same amount of hospital and ICU beds per capita as the US.
Less typing than saying that Canadians are cucks.
People care when their 90 year old grandma dies of Covid, even here in die hard Conservative Saskatchewan. Have fun being ruled by the Liberals another 8 years with question like that.
Hey, I agree with what you're saying but screaming "it's just a bunch of 90 year old grandmas and grandpas that die of Covid, who cares" doesn't win elections.
Hence why I stated in my OP that the problem is cultural. The solution is not going to come from the Conservative Party or the PPC or anything like that. You have to change the culture. We live in a nanny state culture.
A 93 year old relative of mine (by marriage) with Alzheimer's Disease died in a nursing home with COVID-19. My first thought was "the pneumonia put him out of his misery. He wasn't at peace living with Alzheimer's Disease." Even though it's not politically correct to think that way, Alzheimer's Disease is a really bad disease to live with day-to-day. A grandfather of mine lived with Alzheimer's Disease for over a decade before he died.
At the end of the day, 0.0408% of Ontario died with COVID-19. Even in hard-hit Belgium which tops the death charts it's 0.1802%. Our society is making a mountain out of a mole hill. And passing on a massive debt to our future generations over this shit.
I don't know how to reach the doomers and get them to think rationally about the situation. That's the core problem here. They are driven entirely by emotion (primarily fear). This is why my autistic ass with my math could never be a politician. How do we get people to stop freaking the fuck out? Every death is a tragedy. But when people want to take away my civil liberties to extend their lifespan or that of their parents/grandparents, that's where they are crossing the line.
You're asking people to abandon their parents. To put the state and the economy before family. This change in culture would be the change that leads to communism.
How would that be putting the state before family? They are literally using the force of the state to force us to stay at home because they're afraid that if we allow social gatherings and non-essential trips that their parents/grandparents are going to be far more likely to catch the virus and die.
They want to hold society hostage for selfish reasons. I'm not forcing anyone at gun point to go outside. If you want to voluntarily stay inside, reduce your economic activity and hurt the economy, so be it, Jedi. They are forcing me at gunpoint to stay at home.
Economy is not some detached thing. Lives depend on the economy.
