This isn't to discuss how deadly covid is nor the handling of it or the vaccine. We should approach this with the publicly and government enforced belief that this is the deadliest disease to ever exist and killed millions worldwide and we may never go back to normal after it and that you cant travel or work without a vaccine in the very near future. Lockdowns wont be ending until vaccine is mass adopted.
Under this framework, we have socialized healthcare. We pay for it with our taxes. The government now decides who gets the vaccine and who doesnt. They decide who lives and dies from the deadliest epidemic ever. You cant go see anyone else or get this vaccine from any hospital in Canada unless the government says you are allowed. They chose everyone except a certain demographic to be prioritized.
With this, the couple decided to go north with their own money and get in line for a vaccine in a northern community. THey are Canadian. They pay taxes. They have no other option for healthcare in Canada and endangered no one by doing this. It is legal to travel and get healthcare anywhere in Canada. Our government has unilaterally decided they are evil and are deserving public ridicule, hatred and condemnation and do nothing to stop the media from reporting on people going for a medical procedure under their own power legally in their own country. They pay for it. They support our healthcare system. They are denied access to it. And now face jail time for it.
Is this what we pay for? Is this "healthcare"? The government deciding who lives, who dies, who is prioritized for a vaccine and who isnt, who works and who becomes desititute?
Thing is, it doesnt matter how much you make if you intend to use Canadian healthcare. Brock Lesner nearly ended his career because of how shitty our healthcare is and is a multimillionaire. They have the luxury of going to America in non-pandemic times to get treatments if they really need surgery, etc, but they are still basically at government mercy like the rest of us.

They should have flown to Russia to open casino. Then get vaccine.
