Your Latin American friends are correct. And it’s not only looks, it’s attitude. Many women in Canada are simply toxic - in many ways, and not very attractive. (To be fair, the weather doesn’t help). I’ve lived in Asia for many years, and a lot of my family is in Brazil. It’s night and day between here and Asia and South America. Funny thing is many women here feel they need to act like guys to be respected etc. In Latin America and Asia many women embrace their femininity yet excel professionally and in terms of family. Women are women and men are men, yet all can thrive. And just because a woman is feminine doesn’t mean she can’t be successful.
We are currently in Canada and she hates the cold. (As do I). We are heading to Jakarta in April. And we won’t return so long as the hotel quarantine is in effect. By contrast, for Indonesia we have a list of roughly 60 hotels to choose from. We will book 4 nights, which is the requirement. After the hotel stay we self isolate in our apartment. There is a range of prices based on the quality of the hotel. And prices include doctor visits and additional PCR tests. Likely about $125 - 150 per night. And this isn’t because it’s a developing country. Decent Jakarta hotels are generally more expensive than those here in Quebec. Canadians keep getting raped.

My wife is Javanese. I’m not complaining.
