Yeah he's right. Canadians are so unbelievably sanctimonious when comparing ourselves to Americans, but our culture is objectively weak and subservient. We'll give up our rights at the drop of a hat without a fight if our government asks us to.
Our citizens have no concept or understanding of the importance or fragility of our rights. They think "muh rights" is a cultural trope of right-wing Americans. They think anyone who advocates for 'muh rights' is a hillbilly wing-nut.
We are very susceptible to tyranny because most Canadians will go along with it willingly rather than be rude or make waves or sound like an American hillbilly moaning about "muh rights". We're pretty pathetic actually.
If it makes you feel better, half of the US is in the same boat, going along with whatever they are told so that they don't get clumped together with "racists."
