It's not a bad idea in theory. In lockdown world, people are increasingly isolated. In practice, however, the only thing the government can do to fix it is UNDO a lot of the shitty decisions they've made in response to the China virus, and they'll never ever do that. They might try and throw even more taxpayer money on some kind of loneliness awareness program but it wouldn't do any good.

It's Japan. Their loneliness issue isn't created due to Covid. They have this problem now for several decades.
