I mean, it takes me like 5 minutes to gas up my truck, which has 3 times the range of an electric car. Waiting 18 minutes for a charge is still brutal.
Not against electric cars, they just aren't practical in all situations.
It isn't just a supply problem. it's the wires and cabling all the way to the houses that wouldn't be able to handle the extra demand.
If every single household ran their dryer overnight, would there be any issues?
The cabling in your house is easy to change. I'm not even necessarily talking about the cable from the house to the street.
I'm talking about the cabling on your street to supply all the homes in some places. I'm talking about the local transformers, the local substations, etc ... they would all need to be upgraded to support the extra demand.
