It's worth pointing out that if you are an elderly, immuno-compromised person, every single cold and flu bug is potentially fatal, adding COVID to the list doesn't really change the risk that much.

It bothers me because people seem to move with the assumption that before COVID, respiratory diseases weren't a thing. They totally are and have been for god knows how many millennia.
