Canadian taxpayers have given $1.75 billion to the industry to assure continued access to quality dairy products.

Quality? By what standard? It should read that we've given 1.75 billion to the industry to ensure that quality dairy products from other countries are given a competitive disadvantage. If Canada truly had quality dairy products, they wouldn't NEED to be subsidized that way: people would simply choose them.
