It use to be because they'd broadcast what and to places commercial radio & tv didn't want to. But with all the cutbacks they're been reduced to what failed leftist they can afford to hire and keep so yeah the cbc needs to be cleaned out.
Because eliminating the CBC would just pass control of information over to Bell and Rogers.
We don't have a competitive media landscape in this country, it's all a monopoly.
I doubt this is what most Canadians want. No one I know watches or listens to the CBC. So why would they want it funded. And viewership numbers don’t suppose your assertion either.
To anyone downvoting this, you don't have to like reality but that doesn't change it. For whatever reason people like the CBC even if they don't personally watch any of it's content.
I'm not sold on the idea that it's political suicide to want to defund it though. Even if the idea is opposed by 80% of Canadians I doubt it's an issue that very many feel strongly enough about to move votes. It's still probably a net negative position to have though.

We have no choice.

Well someone needs to give a voice to the mentally challenged
Liberals love that shit, and it hasn’t been worth the blow back for the Conservatives to cut them.
Oh sweety, your not alone. You have me.

These polls are fake.
