While I do view polls generally as a way to influence public opinion, Canadian polling tends to be a little more accurate than American politics. Maybe less rigging, less big interests skewing it, people are more likely to say their true opinion in Canada than America. Regardless, it's clear O'toole is not gaining ground. Scheer won the popular vote and still lost to Trudeau, I imagine O'toole would need to do better than Scheer in popular vote to even have a chance at a minority government. O'toole most likely is trailing Trudeau in the popular vote right now.

And thus the whole running a red tory strategy will have failed. We were told O'toole will appeal to the middle and help CPC win more seats.
It only works when you have a likable leader at the helm.
