I love reading stories of Canadians struggling with rent/housing. For at least a decade I've heard how wonderful immigration is and how we need more of it and because I don't agree I'm a racist Nazi xenophobe. Yeah, if you let in millions upon millions of people who were not born here naturally, that's going to affect housing, traffic, health care wait times, wages. Canadians have been begging for this for a long time. Did they think all the people who came here were just going to live underground or something? Stories or Canadians struggling to own a home or pay their rent make me smile. It's time to compete.
People have been conditioned to simply expect massive unchecked immigration from anywhere as being perfectly normal
The housing market is just as affordable as it ever was. You just have to be willing to live like all the immigrants moving here, pack 20 people into a 3 bedroom house. Boom. Problem solved.
