The reason this is important is because if someone is acting in a drunken manner but has not been drinking, there may be a serious medical condition going on.
I think the news reporting this as racism is actually far more racist, by continuing the stereotype that most Indians are drunks. So asking if a drunk native has been drinking is racist and national news? Ahhahah
I have seen the news refer to him as, “Colten Boushie, the young Indigenous man who was shot and killed after driving onto a White farmer’s property.”
It’s little bit more complex than that but they purposely leave out important details and frame there vagueness to switch the guilt and innocence.
