We should be expanding our military to help defend northern arctic area as they open up. Other countries like china and russia are working to secure those resourcces for the future and infringing and disputing territory already and will only get worse as more area opens up over time.

China will support this initiative.

In all honesty with the state of our current military I wouldn't be opposed to dumping it. America pretty much occupies us anyway so it's not like we'll be loosing any defense.
