Canada already has defamation laws. Let politicians sue if they think they’ve been defamed. They don’t need, and certainly don’t deserve, special protection. They choose to serve the public [don’t laugh too hard], they put themselves out for criticism. If they can’t take “hurtful” words they are in the wrong job.
