The Catholic church hasn't forced you to surrender wealth as a form of repentance for centuries. It took Martin Luther to point out the shit the Catholic church was doing, but donations are voluntary and are not in exchange for anything spiritual.
On the flipside,
So many people go on and on about all wealthy people being vile in order for them to be wealthy. Those same people remain preoccupied with this to outlandish levels and fail to realize it is their own obsession with money that is the problem. Always stalking those with money to hate on them for having what they want but cannot have.
