Sigh,
The CRA is such a fucking scam. People flipping homes become targets while Politicians and Billionaires are left to pillage at will.
What a gong show.
Edit: The sad thing is, legislation exists to protect almost all people, IF it was readily known. It's hidden away and buried so deep the average person and lawyer doesn't even know it is there.
High paid Lawyers and Corporations certainly know. That is why their court cases are not completely publicized or they settle out of court (using regulation to mitigate penalty). We would be able to reference how they get away with all this shit and use it for ourselves.
Imagine. A Judge , a District Attorney, who are aware of this, knowingly following through with action against you while failing to disclose Legislation that could nullify that action. All because that "Legislation" wasn't "intended" for use by the general public. Obviously most are not aware, as the Judges proceeding over issues of this nature are at different leveled Courts.
It is only a 2 tiered system because of this omission and our no fault ignorance of the law.
A well organized Group of Citizens with adequate Representation COULD hold our lower level Judges to the fire and demand precedence be applied.
This is not new. The tax authorities have always viewed revenue from a business as taxable as income rather than cap gains. If one is in the business of buying and selling properties then the gains should be taxed as income. The issue is whether the conduct amounts to a business. This has been the case for decades.
I did read that somewhere. Pretty bad. They wont be happy until we are taxed 100%.
