Keep in mind, the OPP are the one police force who answer directly to the provincial government meaning they can't come out in open defiance of Ford without being guilty of insubordination. So it's not really fair to hold them to the same standard as local forces who answer to their mayors, not the premier.
I'd expect the OPP to say "Yes sir" and then just quietly decline to perform these random stops.
I had a negative experience with the OPP. They are scumbags.
Because they are like the RCMP. Their officers have no ties to the communities they police.
Also, they get bored doing highway patrol and pull people over just for the excitement .

So it's perfectly acceptable for the OPP to not publicly declare support for our Charter rights.
They don't have to "declare support" for your charter rights. They just have to not violate them.
