Considering that the cases, hospitalizations and ICU admissions in Ontario went higher than the January peak but the deaths are down like 55% from January, yeah I'd say the vaccine is working. The 80+ year olds who made up 69% of the COVID-19 deaths prior to the vaccine roll out got their jabs awhile back. Especially the nursing home residents who got first dibs. And the share of 80+ year olds among COVID-19 deaths has been going down for awhile. There are a lot of obese Type II diabetic boomers in their 50s-70s in the hospital with COVID who didn't get the jab until recently (you need 16 days to develop the antibodies from the vaccine). But this group has a greater survivability rate than the 80+ year old geriatrics in nursing homes. This is why you're seeing less death despite the hospitalizations and cases.
if the vaccine, masks and alcohol are working, why are we having a third wave?
Because Trudeau was very slow with the vaccine roll out for the 50-80 demo. My 73 year old dad only got his jab April 1st and I signed him up as soon as I found out it was available for his demo. Which means he only had the immunity from the vaccination on April 17th as it takes 16 days for the antibodies to fully proliferate.
In Canada indigenous 18+ year olds had the vaccine offered to them for awhile now while my 70 year old obese Type II diabetic relative who died from COVID-19 was forced to wait because she's white. Trudeau has blood on his hands. And the government instead is gaslighting people like me for being anti-lockdown and anti-mask. lmao.
why does every global chart match the Vaccination rollout curve to the third wave curve?
you are also discounting the fact that the primary death group is the over 80's, who suffer the most from lack of sunlight, oxygen and movement.
The death share among 80+ has actually dropped during the "third wave", which is what I said initially in my post.
In Ontario For cases before February 28 (March 1 2020-February 27 2021), 67.28% of the COVID-19 deaths were 80+. There were 13.36 fatalities per day among 80+ year olds during this 364 day period.
For cases with a February 28 to April 8 episode date ("le third wave"), 45.7% of the COVID-19 deaths were 80+. There were only 7.075 fatalities per day among 80+ year olds during this period. Fatalities Per Day for 80+ year olds during the "third wave" are 47% less than March 1 2020-February 27 2021.
Is it a coincidence that far less geriatrics are dying during the "third wave" while fatalities per day for the under-80 demo that Trudeau failed to vaccine quickly are up 1.91 deaths/day for Feb 28-Apr 8 2021 versus Mar 1 2020-Feb 27 2021?
I'm not getting the vaccine because I'm young and healthy. I don't need to poo-poo the vaccine to justify not getting it. I have a very high survival rate at my age and health. I'd rather deal with COVID than risk a blood clot or worse. I believe in vaccine choice. I believe offering the vaccine to the at-risk population is a good idea. Unfortunately the scientists and media are bullshitting about young people in the hospital with COVID to push their Big Pharma agenda of vaccinating everyone.
Also the fact that masks contain over 200,000 virus and bacteria and become a poisonous petri dish on your face.
Cloth masks and paper surgical masks are fucking useless for an airborne virus. If you're going to have a masking policy, it should be N95 or equivalent respirators. But the health care workers need these far more than the general public. And requiring that people purchase and use N95s is discriminatory against the poor. A group of people that the left pretends to care about.
Canada's COVID death rate is very low comparatively to much of the world (we are #63 in deaths per capita). So I'm pretty sure we have plenty of dry tender left over in the elderly population who would be easy pickings for the virus if they didn't have the antibodies to fight it. 0.2711% of Czech Republic's population died with COVID, 0.1979% of Italy's population died with COVID, 0.1869% of the UK's population died with COVID, 0.0632% for Canada, only 0.0537% of Ontario's population died with COVID.
Canada has so many fat asses that there is no way we are anywhere close to topping out the COVID death here. When I load up POF and Tinder, I see so many walking comorbidities. The COVID-19 pandemic and the obesity pandemic has a lot of overlap if you were to draw a Venn Diagram. It's just not politically correct to talk about. The mainstream media deliberately trots out a 31 year old athletic Olympic Gold medal winning Chad in the hospital with COVID to distract from the fact that it's mostly old fat people who are getting REKT'd by this virus.
If you copy and paste all the fatality cases in the Ontario .csv data and sort by episode date and create a pivot table and calculate a 7-day rolling average of the daily fatalities you'll see that deaths have been trending up since the Feb 28th episode date (the "third wave"). And the death share for under-80s went up while it went down for the 80+ demo (that has been vaccinated awhile ago).
If you are young and healthy, it doesn't make sense to have the vaccine. But if you are a geriatric or a fat ass (especially old and fat), it makes more sense to get the vaccine.
The most expensive 0.1% plan ever initiated in history.

Because most of the world had a very slow vaccine roll out. Canada included. Have you seen the UK's chart? https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/uk/ USA's chart is looking pretty good compared to Canada https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ vs https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/canada/

In Canada it's actually 99.97% if you're under 40.
