You did. Well done. With the revisionist history being taught now the significant contribution of English (and Scottish) immigrants may well be forgotten in a generation or two. McTavish, McGill, Morgan, Simpson, Molson, Redpath, Dow - the list is long and impressive. Indeed, much of Montreal’s development in the 19th and 20th centuries is attributable to english Montrealers. (Montreal was Canada’s leading city until not so long ago - banks, breweries, retail, railways, etc started there). This fact is not something present day French Quebeckers will happily acknowledge. They have spent the past 50 plus years pushing anglos out and erasing Montreal’s rich history. Shameful.
